NaPoWriMo 4 ~ Fish Tales

Fish Basket

Sensing dishonesty, the fish journeys past
dangling lures of prodigious preconceptions
preferring fallow flies with speckled feathers.
It imagines buzzing as it swims up
and snaps its supercilious jaws.
It swallows its own omnipotence
(hook, line, and sinker).
Harried agitations settle it into
a pocket between trout and perch
whose docile gasps indicate submission
in this dark and wickered space.

The wordle has words drawn from three different poems.  I like where my piece wound up, poor fish.  If you wrote a piece, post your links in the comments below.  I can't wait to see where they took you.

I like the idea of fish sensing dishonesty.

Another one that might tempt me back into the wordle world.

You've done a grand job using all your lovely wordle words. I liked the last line, too: "submission
in this dark and wickered space."

I never expected to write about a fish, but I did! You can find my wordle here:

I could feel the tension - it was like Jaws in reverse.

I like the alliteration throughout. And that image at the end of the "dark and wickered space" - a great ending.

As a fisher person, I have often sat in a rowboat and wondered about this very thing. How do they choose? Don't laugh, I can see the word verification and it is DINGSLY. Somehow it all fits together, lol.

That false sense of omnipotence always proves tragic... well, comic-tragic :). Here's my Wordle: There are moments

Oh, yes, the omnipotence. Sad, sad supper.

Love it, Brenda,
It swallows its own omnipotence
(hook, line, and sinker).
How fitting:)
